Sengokuhara

Sengokuhara is one of the most scenic spots among the lesser-known destinations in Hakone. There is a lot of pampas grass growing there, creating a scene that looks like a golden carpet in Autumn. In contrast, in the summer, you can find refreshing landscape of deep green such as emerald sea. Especially in the evening, it shines in the light of the setting sun and it is so beautiful.

You probably thought why aren’t there any crowds there if it is such a good spot. There is only one reason. Access. It takes about 30 minutes from the station where is the nearest from there with the bus.

・From Hakone-Yumoto station
- Bus: Take the Hakone Tozan Bus (Line T) bound for Togendai.
- Duration: Approx. 30 min.
- Stop: Get off at “Sengokuhara-Onsen”
・From Gora station
- Bus: Take the Hakone Tozan Bus (Line S or M / “Kanko Shisetsu-Meguri” Bus).
- Duration: Approx. 20 min.
- Stop: Get off at “Sengokuhara-Onsen”.
Chisuji Falls

Chisuji falls—so named in Japanese because the water appears to split into a thousand threads. It is perfect for feeling the coolness of nature. It locates deep in the forests of Hakone. It is hidden gem in Hakone, and has a mysterious atmosphere because there are few people.
